Pourtant, avec un rayon de soleil, la ville a la beauté froide, ordonnée, manga, des cités du nord, sans pourtant l´uniformité industrielle Bo-Boisée un peu anxiogene des corons et d´Agamemnon Road. Les maisons, le pavage, les batiments publics sont construits en brique, mais avec la variété et l´originalité Art nouveau qu´on voit aussi a Bruxelles. Les palais ont des airs de beffrois flamands ou de béguinages. Les dimensions sont un peu curieuses, mignardes et monumentales a la fois: les rues sont surdimensionnees en largeur, comme a Berlin (deux voies, deux voies pour les vélos, et souvent des arbres), mais les batiments ne depassent pas 4 étages, ce qui rend Szohod — si l’on en excepte le quartier contemporain des ministeres, a mi-chemin entre un campus dans la Silicon Valley et La Défense — basse et un peu provinciale a l’oeil.

However, with a ray of light, the city has the cold, ordered, manga beauty of Northern town, without the somewhat anguishing BoHo´ed industrial uniformity of mining villages and Agamemnon Road, though. Houses, paving, public buildings are made of brick, but with the diversity and Art Nouveau originality also to be seen in Brussels. Palaces have airs of Flemish belfries or beguines houses. The proportions are a bit strange, dainty and monumental at once: streets are oversized in breadth, just like in Berlin (two ways, plus two ways for bikes, and often trees), but the buildings do not rise above 4 stories, which makes Szohod seem — if the contemporary neighbourhood of ministries is to be excepted, somezhere between a Valley campus and Canary Wharf — low and a tad provincial.
