Comme les autres grandes formations qui ont domin\u00e9 la vie politique italienne sous la I\u00e8re R\u00e9publique (PCI, \u00abPentapartito\u00bb), le PSI s’est enfonc\u00e9 dans la corruption et la dilution id\u00e9ologique, balott\u00e9 de droite et de gauche par son opportunisme. A cela se surajoute l’\u00e9ternelle question du choix entre marxisme et social-d\u00e9mocratie (selon les \u00e9poques, les socd\u00e9m ont \u00e9t\u00e9 dans le partis o\u00f9 en dehors, sous l’\u00e9tiquette PSDI). Je ne dis rien sur les coalitions \u00e9lectorales (temporaires) de partis, comme Unita Socialista, mais sachez tout de m\u00eame que c’est un beau bordel floral. <\/p>\n
En effet, la m\u00eame confusion se retrouve dans l’emploi des logos, m\u00e9lang\u00e9s, combin\u00e9s, surimpos\u00e9s (comme chez la DC, on y reviendra) selon les \u00e9poques. Si le renoncement du PSI \u00abhistorique\u00bb au socialisme scientifique est sign\u00e9 par l’abandon de l’embl\u00e8me du livre (repris ensuite par les travailliste) et, bien s\u00fbr, de la faucille et du marteau et le choix de l’oeillet — lequel reste en Italie la<\/i> fleur \u00e9quivalente du mot, pas de l’id\u00e9ologie, \u00absocialiste\u00bb jusqu’\u00e0 aujourd’hui –, le courant PSDI est pour sa part rest\u00e9 fid\u00e8le aux lendemains qui chantent de son soleil levant. Noter aussi que tout le monde fait sa\u00efli-sta\u00eflo je suis au Parti socialiste europ\u00e9en donc je porte sa rose (moche).<\/p>\n

Like other groups that dominated the Italian political life under the 1st Republic (PCI, \u00abPentapartito\u00bb), PSI sank into corruption and ideological dilution, bobbed about, left and right, by mere opportunism. To that the eternal question of choice between marxism and social-democracy (depending on the time, the soc-dem were inside or outside the party, under the PSDI label) adds up. I don’t talk about temporary electoral coalitions, like Unita Socialista, but you should know it’s a wicked flower mess. <\/p>\n
Indeed, the same confusion can be traced back into the use of logos, mixed, combinated, watermarked (like for the DC, we’ll come back to this one), depending of the era. If the renouncement by the \u00ab\u00a0historical\u00a0\u00bb PSI to scientific socialism is signified by giving up the book emblem (hence taken as their own by labourists), and, of course, the sickle-and-hammer, to the benefit of the carnation — which in Italy remains the<\/i> flower equivalent to the word, not the ideology, \u00ab\u00a0socialist\u00a0\u00bb — PSDI for them have remain faitfully to glorious tomorrows and rising suns. Also note that eveybody says, like, \u00ab\u00a0I’m a member of the European Socialist Party\u00a0\u00bb, and uses its (ugly) rose. <\/p>\n
