Alors bien s\u00fbr, tout le monde se gausse, tout le monde dit \u00ables centristes, c’est comme les mao\u00efstes. A un ils forment un parti, \u00e0 deux deux courants, \u00e0 trois un schisme\u00bb. Mais en Italie, plus loin du centre, des mutations et des \u00e9clatements h\u00e9naurmes se sont aussi produits. Troisi\u00e8me \u00e9pisode de la saison politique: qu’est le PCI devenu?<\/p>\n

Bon, pour \u00eatre honn\u00eate, c’est quand m\u00eame plus simple que la DC. En gros, apr\u00e8s la Chute du Mur de Berlin\u00ae#, le PCI s’est fait harakiri pour devenir, comme en Europe centrale, le principal parti socd\u00e9m, membre du PSE et de l’Internationale socialiste. Noter ce qui est au pied de l’arbre: d’abord la filiation au PCI, puis l’appartenance au PSE. Ce PDS a m\u00eame admis des mouvements centristes vraiment mous en 1998, d’o\u00f9 son rebapt\u00eame en D\u00e9mocrates de gauche. (m\u00eame \u00abParti\u00bb c’\u00e9tait trop de gauche comme mot). Comme en Europe centrale, une tendance \u00abmaintenue\u00bb, Refondation (PRC), est sorti des cendres du Parti historique. Mais comme c’est l’Italie o\u00f9 rien ne vaut 1- un logo et 2- un portefeuille minist\u00e9riel, le PRC a connu dans les ann\u00e9es 90 deux scissions de ses membres d\u00e9sireux de gouverner avec les socialistes et les prodistes. <\/p>\n

Cela \u00e9tant, \u00e0 leur honneur, il faut dire que leurs logos sont toujours rest\u00e9 classe, *eux* (Comme l’apprend Wikipedia<\/a>, Refondation a refait plein de fois son logo pour des raisons de droit \u00e0 la marque, puis pour \u00e9viter la confusion sur les bulletins de vote avec le Parti des communistes italiens). Et puis ils ont eu l’id\u00e9e du Chronotron<\/a> (je crois que c’\u00e9tait le nom du chronom\u00e8tre inverse qui attendait l’an 2000 et s’est finalement \u00e9chou\u00e9 \u00e0 la Bastille) anti-Berlusconi.

One makes a party, two make two trends, three make a split.\u00a0\u00bb In Italy however, further from the center, huge mutations and break-ups also occured. The first part of the political season: What has the PCI become?<\/p>\n

OK, to be honest, it is easier than for the DC. Roughly speaking, after the Fall of the Berlin Wall\u00ae#, PCI committed hara-kiri to become, like in central Europe, the main soc-dem party, a member of the PES and the Socialist International. Notice the change of what is at the foot of the tree: first the filiation with PCI, then the membership to PES. This PDS even admitted *really* soft centrists in 1998, hence the rebranding as Left Democrats (even \u00ab\u00a0party\u00a0\u00bb was too left-wing). Like in central Europe, an \u00ab\u00a0upheld\u00a0\u00bb trend, Refoundation (PRC), has come out of the historical Party’s ashes. But this being Italy, where nothing’s worth 1- a logo and 2- a Cabinet job, the PRC experienced two splits during the 1990’s of members willing to govern with the socialists and the Prodites. <\/p>\n

However, and to their credit, *their* logos have always been classy (As one learns on Wikipedia<\/a>, Refoundation has redone their logo several times for trademarks reasons and then to avoid confusion with the Party of the Italian Communists on voting ballots). Also, they’ve had the idea of the anti-Berlusconi Chronotron<\/a> (or was that the name of the countdown machine waiting for Y2K that ended up at Bastille?)<\/p>\n
